Meet Certified Professional Dog Trainer, Megan Coleman
Megan became a dog trainer after being in your shoes! Over a decade ago, she ended up with an extremely fearful and reactive German Shepherd named Jojo. Megan knew that Jojo needed help and stumbled upon clicker training. She fell in love with positive reinforcement dog training, and knew she had to pursue a career in animal behavior.
She quit her waitressing job and started working at the Austin Humane Society in 2012 as an adoption counselor. She later became the Lead Behavior and Enrichment Specialist, and had the pleasure of creating a comprehensive enrichment and behavior modification program for the shelter. She led volunteer groups, worked with countless dogs with behavior issues, and created training plans and resources everyday. Over the next 6 years she went on to manage the Bastrop Animal Shelter, then worked at Austin Animal Center as a Behavior and Enrichment Specialist .
In 2018 she decided to part ways from the animal shelter world and start Train Your Dog LLC. Megan loves teaching and coaching dog guardians, and can’t wait to help you and your dog reach your full potential.
